Celtics Game

No need to fear K.G., Ray, and P.Paul are here!…well not exactly; in tonights game they didn’t get off to a hot start neither did they finish hard in the end, I’ll admit the game was horrible I mean c’mon Celtics I’ve seen you take down Kobe and the Lakers with no problem. There’s just no excuse for this if you look at the scores they only had the lead once in the entire game, first quarter 23-22 Atlanta, which wasn’t too bad. The second quarter the Hawks scored 30, Boston scored 19, in the third Atlanta scored 21 and the Celtics had their first lead of the night with 32 points. In the fourth Atlanta scored 26 points and Celtics ended up only scoring 18,now obviously the Celtics got their butts kicked pretty bad 100-91 Atlanta wins it. Well Atlanta might have got the glory and all, but let’s still give it up for the three musketeers maybe they’ll have better luck on Sunday don't miss it 3:30pm sharp. I know my team pretty well, so I know that they’ll pull themselves out of this one like they have before. So for all those Celtics fans out there keep your head up we’ll pull through, and enjoy the rest of your weekend before it’s too late.

Yours truly,
Eggy

The Tell-Tale Heart

Just as the day turns to dark; the lunatic that controls you every night is coming back to greet you once more. Thank goodness no one knows this because it would just be a waste of your breath when you try to explain that you’re not crazy. That there’s just a crazy evil spirit that comes and takes over your body and mind completely. Absolutely no one, sometimes even you don’t believe yourself that there are voices telling you to hurt the ones you love most. This is exactly what happen to the butler in Edger Allen Poe’s A Tell-Tale Heart, who just happened to go crazy and kill the old man that he looked after. In the short story the butler is always saying that he was not crazy, that he was in fact smart, but actually he is just highly unintelligent and out of his mind.
“I heard all things in the heaven above and in the earth. I heard many things in hell.” How then is he mad? Ask the butler, why most would say he is insane in many ways, most would say how is he not mad? Edger Allen Poe himself, most likely made this character knowing that he was indeed crazy. If this butler was truly normal then why was he hearing voices in heaven and hell, why was he hearing voices that weren’t even there? And why did he stalk the evil eyed man every night? Anyone who does those things is obviously insane; even though there isn’t such thing as normal people in this world, there are smart ones that know when enough is enough and when they need to go see a psychologist.
Which is another thing that was wrong with the care taker, he did not know when enough was enough obviously. He did not see that the evil eye was just a plain bad eye, in fact the butler was so wrapped up in taking the eye out and killing the old man, to notice that he indeed was so far out of his mind that he couldn’t think of anything else to do day and night then to obsess over this one little eye. Also the butler puts himself too much into the action instead of looking at it from a bird’s eye view.
The butler could have easily found a nice, fast, and simple way to kill the old man and get on with his own life. If the butler had thought his plan to kill the old man through he could have made it look like the man died of old age. First he could have snuck into the room and right when the old man knew he was there….BAM! he flips the mattress over on the floor suffocating the old man. For the next step instead of slicing and dicing the poor old man, just put him and his mattress back almost perfectly back the way he found it. Finally for the last step in the process, leave the old man and go call the ambulance in the morning not too soon or else you might look guilty and never too late because then people will start to jump to conclusions very quickly.
In the end the butler turned out to be just as dumb as he was crazy. If he had thought his plan through for a while more he probably would have had more success, or even if he had sought out help a little bit earlier he would have never got to the breaking point where he felt as if the only way to stop the evil eye was to destroy it. He could have even asked the old man politely to cover the eye because it was rather disturbing, but no he just had to have his way which didn’t quite work out for him after all.

The Comparison
Of War Comes to Willy Freeman
And "The Patriot"

Imagine bullets being shot all around you, people laying dead on what used to be green grass, but what is now a bloody red violent field. As you run across the devil’s territory you trip over something and land in a puddle of blood and just as you look up, to your surprise you see the most terrifying thing that will scar you forever, your own relative goes down. Time stops, everything freezes around you; in slow motion you see the bullet head straight for his chest…BOOM he goes down hard. As he lay there motionless, suddenly, at a snail's pace he turns looks at you and his face locks in place, he is staring at you; never does he blink again. This experience is what scarred Willy Freeman and Benjamin Martin for the rest of their lives.
In the book War Comes To Willy Freeman the main character Willy is constantly searching for her mother ever since she was taken away by the British during the Revolutionary War. The hardest part about finding her mother is that most people she meets aren’t willing to help her because she’s an African American girl, but she’s actually disguised as a boy. Either way during her time period, which was in the late 1700’s so even if she was a boy or a girl it would not matter because people had no respect for blacks.
War Comes to Willy Freeman is similar to the movie “The Patriot” in many different ways; from losing family members in combat to not having a home at times. Benjamin Martin, the main character in the movie, was a soldier in the French and Indian War and is a father of seven kids. Now he is trying to figure out what he is going to do when his son suddenly wants to fight in the war which, so far has caused the whole family nothing but trouble and left them homeless.
Willy and Benjamin both have had many deaths in their families during the war which probably is the reason why neither one of them gives up hope. During the war it was ordinary to see people dying, being hung, or killed which is an awful experience but when you see all those notorious soldiers coming into your home taking away your family and killing them too it would make you extremely furious. This makes you so angry that you could possibly do something idiotic or insane, put you in a situation that could possibly cause you death. Willy Freeman was one of those people that did something incredibly dangerous without thinking twice, but survive, unlike many.
After seeing her father be killed and no knowledge of where her mother was, Willy Freeman set off on a quest to find her mother. When Willy set off, she obviously did not think it through, since she a was an African American girl she had the lowest amount of respect and being as she was a freed slave that could not read, she was not prepared to go venturing all over. Either way you look at it she was a thirteen year-old girl with no sense of direction and determined to get what she set out to find.
On the other hand Benjamin Martin was just as foolish as Willy Freeman. Although Benjamin knew how to read and was indeed more wealthy than Willy, it wasn’t very intelligent to go running after his son who had joined the army and had also been accused as a spy and is taken away to be executed. These events were the events which triggers the journey to find his son and form a militia mostly to get revenge of the general who murdered his second oldest son right in front of Benjamin.
Although both characters Willy and Benjamin were clearly going with the first idea that popped into their heads, they were both involved in the war in different ways but for similar reasons. In “The Patriot” Benjamin is fighting and killing and was a person who was an actual participant in the battle. Willy was just another pedestrian watching from their window as the soldiers marched through the streets and started to conquer land. But in the end both had their victory and had accomplished what they planned.
In my opinion both the book and the movie were great but what started as a war over land turned into a violent and uncaused for battle killing families and burning down churches. So it seems to me that this war was not a good idea in the first place but after learning about it a little bit more, I'm glad that it happened.
